UK fossil fuel use drops to lowest level since 1957::undefined
In electricity generation *. Probably not as good once you take all primary production into account, especially transportation.
However coal specifically is amazing. I thought “lowest consumption since 1757” was a typo, but it is not.
Yeah, the industrial revolution was certainly a time.
UK does pretty well for wind power.
7 of the top 10 offshore wind farms by capacity, and all of the top 5.
Of the 16 large farms currently being constructed worldwide, 5 of them are UK farms.
I read a while back that the UK and Ireland get over 40% of the wind that blows over Europe, so at least it’s being put to good use.
We try to find a benefit for our shit weather.
