Republican U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson said on Monday the “survival of the West” depended on countries prioritising their own national interests before extending a helping hand to their neighbours.

Speaking via video link at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) conference in London, Johnson argued the U.S. could only maintain its “strength and leadership” if its foreign policy was centred on its national interests.

“It’s a matter of common sense for each of our countries to acknowledge that we must each take care of our own houses before we help take care of the neighbourhood,” Johnson said.

"As we seek to make America safer, stronger and more prosperous, we will encourage all our friends and allies to do the same in and for their own countries.

His lack of “common sense” is fucking astounding.

I mean c’mon America. Where the hell are you finding these people?

No - actually the west will only survive if we can get out from under the rule of self-absorbed, hate- and fear-mongering psychopaths and clowns.

    And it’s not looking good.

We can’t get out of all 5. Maybe if we only had to get rid of one. My votes for getting rid of the psychopaths. But the clowns are a close second

“It’s a matter of common sense for each of our countries to acknowledge that we must each take care of our own houses before we help take care of the neighbourhood,” Johnson said.

Mike, you aren’t even following your own rhetoric. Oh, the GOP takes care of their own house, but then stop short of ever helping the neighborhood. Eight years ago you guys said you had a better plan than the ACA (Obamacare). Not only have you never shown it, but you’re currently cutting Medicaid making healthcare objectively worse for millions of Americans that you supposedly represent. You’re setting fire to the neighborhood around you to keep your own house 1 degree warmer and you’re calling that a success while the neighbors are now freezing from being homeless.

And if the women down the street is being abused by her husband, it’s in all of our best interest that she come in and be safe until the police get here

And if the kid down the block is playing the same sport as my kids, they’re welcome to our hand me downs

And if there’s a neighborhood bbq, I’ll be there, and bring something

Not one of these things impacts my ability to deal with my own shit but it helps other people and builds a healthy neighborhood where we can live in peace and security, and know they’ll be here to support us too

What these fucks don’t get, at all, is even our fucking cells organized into symbiotic structures of communalism.

Life. Is. Fucking. Better. With. Help.

Thats the point of our union being federalized, the point of the EU, everything.

This back-asswards way of thinking led to millions apon millions of deaths in the first two world wars.

These cherry picked nepobabies drank their ways through colleges and think we are as stupid as the 30% they fuck over on a daily basis who vote for them.

If everyone is fine, it’s fine to mind one’s own business only.

But if my neigbour’s house is burning and I he has a big bottle of propane waiting to go thermobaric, then his problem is my problem.

If my neigbour’s neighbour is aiming a multiple rocket launcher at my neighbour, or has other ideas for wiping out the block, then a shared problem with high priority does kind of exist.

He’s only protecting Western billionaires. I don’t think the West is going to stay the same either way.
