“The American experiment endures,”
I would say it just failed. I’m sorry but a system that elects a rapist, a 34 times convicted felon, one who defrauds students, cages children, takes away human rights, praises nazi’s and dictators, and this was just the first term. I’m sorry but by any metric I care to meaure it by this is a failed experiment.
nah, you’re thinking of the guy who owns x. like anyone would be dumb enough to destroy that much brand recognition by renaming twitter…
something about this seems familiar. I swear, there was some dude who wanted to buy twitter to prevent this exact sort of thing from happening… wonder what ever happened to that guy?
setting the stage for the next coup attempt?
I honestly thought it was common knowledge that these things were essentially free labor for training AI.
I am a huge fan of immich, been running it for quite a while, it started as just phone photo backup but it’s good enough that I’ve made it my primary photo repository (fully backed up of course). I will absolutely pay for a license but count me as one who doesn’t really like the terminology used.
I would happily put a donated or supporter badge to show off, but the unlicensed just feels a bit wrong. I have no trouble paying for software, especially as useful as immich, but in the enshittifying world we live in, such language gives one pause.
no shit, I feel most people can function in just about any framework, so long as everyone knows what they are building. I’ve seen agile (and other frameworks to be fair) as the ‘solution’ to missing requirements too often. Sure we can get to work without them, but to what end?
Oh, I’m totally kidding, it would be soul crushing (crusher?) to hear her voice coming from these nightmares.
This is not the AI I was expected after growing up with Star Trek. I’m trying to picture just what horrors the replicators would come up with if hooked to this abomination.
Then the other clowns go and steal scarjo’s voice instead of Majel Barrett. What a future we’re building here…
Just like their name, it’s just a slogan. They wrap themselves in flags and bibles and folks fall for it every time.
Agreed! The phone I’m typing this on right now is dressed in my finest yellow TPU.
I mean, the article goes into how their real estate was gutted, which could have provided a safety margin for them to restructure. But again, I care nothing for red lobster, but I see the same pattern as happened with so many others. Read into Sears or Toy-R-Us for example. It’s the pattern of these parasitic private equity firms. They look for these struggling businesses that have assets they can come in to exploit, hastening the demise.
In the end it’s not so much that I care about these businesses survival as I angers me to see a few corporate fucks stripping away the value that workers had built over the years and leaving destruction in the wake.
Yeah, but shitty chain restaurant that may have had a chance to improve had it not had its organs harvested while still alive. I honestly don’t give a shit about red lobster but I hate the corporate theft that we just let happen.
I can’t tell you how many articles I’ve read lately that can just be summed up as “late-stage capitalism”. This is the death throes of the nation.
Oh, I know, I’m being somewhat facetious. I do have 3D printers but that’s because I’m a nerd; not like, preparing for anything…
Right, my fully loaded vehicle was like 43k all in when I bought it in 2016. Today, the same car with the same trim level (granted a newer model) costs over 20k more.
That’s why one of the things I bought is a 3D printer.
the very same day…
