I see you’ve heard of my latest band, Late Tangerine Ape.

Illegally? I don’t know the law in AZ but if he rolled on over here to Texas he could sell them as private sales without any issue. I once purchased a .45 ACP in the parking lot of a police station.
Years ago I knew a guy who was going around his very affluent community stealing Obama signs during his first run. He was a business owner, in his 50s, and fucking loaded. He was caught repeatedly and just kept paying the fines for it.
My guy, you’re in Texas. It wasn’t going to Obama. He just had unlimited money to pay the fines so he was showing how childish he was and how much he hated that others had a different opinion.
It’s a fucking shame that he has more money than god and couldn’t get someone to help him pick out a cowboy hat that would fit his face. Or tell him when it’s backwards. Or have it properly shaped. Or have it customized in any way.
I have no issue with someone wearing a cowboy hat who has never been near a ranch. I have no issue with people who don’t know what to do with one but want to wear one. They’re practical and can be stylish. I have a huge issue with someone who can afford to have an army of image consultants wearing it incorrectly to pander to idiots who are too cowardly to call him out on it.
Wait, it got made?!? Now I’m excited.
Ah, the ol’ Lemmy Pokeroo.
Every company I’ve worked for either gave us digital gift cards or, when I was a manager, let us charge meals specifically to our business credit card for a certain amount per month (team outings) without prior approval.
I have made no claims as to the goodness or badness of the situation. I’m just observing.
But no matter how many Texans show up there’s no replacement for us.
Apparently there are more Texans around than we initially thought.
Of course I’m curious, you glorious bastard! I really appreciate it.
One day I’d like to pick your brain (not today, I’m drinking). I’ve always been nutjob adjacent but the only time I believed was as a kid and that stopped when the pastor of the church my family attended started using stupid math to force the letters in COMPUTER to add up to 666. That was literally the beginning of the end for me. I was also into conspiracies in my 20s but I thought it was like no_sleep where we pretended to believe in wacky things because it was funny. Turns out it wasn’t funny to most of them, which I found out during some fiasco where people were sure the military was about to take over because of Obama or something.
I always wanted to hear from someone who was deep into some shit but figured out it was all bullshit. Keep spreading that knowledge because it is super interesting and it’s important for others to see that you can absolutely get out of it.
@[email protected] Have you checked yours? Mine is all good.
You forgot the part where they yelled “Without prejudice!” and signed their bag in blue ink at a 45° angle.
I actually didn’t realize that. I was thinking we were coming to an end because my buddy’s ranch seems to have mostly recovered and he’s got more cattle now than he had a few years ago. But I guess I should look at the wider market instead of a single place if I’m going to comment about things.
COVID wasn’t the only factor. What people don’t remember because of all the other crazy shit that happened was that we had a 3 year drought.
Prices still haven’t stabilized because it’s expensive to buy cattle right now. Prices will likely be in the shitter for another 1.5-2 years, and I’m not sure they’ll ever really come down in a way people notice.
It will also make it easier to notice for the average consumer, which could change shopping habits and ultimately lead to a lower stable price.
Defederation makes it so that figuring out which instance to sign up with in order to see your friends and local businesses (since we’re talking about vs Facebook instead of Twitter or Reddit) would be a nightmare for the average person.
I have multiple accounts on some services trying to get to everything I want to see. I mostly gave up on Pixelfed. My main Mastodon account can see people on other instances but has problems seeing their posts. And I’m absolutely not willing to troubleshoot it because between work, a social life, and other hobbies I just don’t have the time or give a shit.
I like the fediverse. I’m here. I use it. But I’m only going to use what’s convenient and I promise that I have more patience than the average non tech person who wants to sign up using a linked Gmail account and see all the things they expect to see without having to think about it.
Edit: I think my brain skipped the last two sentences in that comment. I just sat here and bitched about something that was already mentioned. I have brought nothing to this discussion and have brought shame upon my house.
I actually assumed it was because Dark Brandon was popular and getting things done.
This is what I looked like back when I jammed with the console cowboys in cyberspace.
