Yeah the mechanics of skater XL are good but there’s no story or anything. I don’t think session is any harder than skater XL and it does have a story mode.
Yeah, off board like hall of meats, parkor, building, etc.

Unfortunately I’ve heard the new skate has forgotten what it set out to do with an over emphasis on off board mechanics. Man you should really check out skater XL or Session though. In my opinion they’re then natural evolution of the genre.

Really? I find them totally fine. Pretty impressive really when you take scope and responsiveness into account.
I’m cautiously excited for this. The Dirt series was my first real intro to sim racing. As the main series went off the rails with 3 4 5. I was thankful to have the Rally series to fall back on. Man are those games brutal though! With Dirt Rally 2 getting on in years, I haven’t really found another competitor. GT7 does well enough on tarmac, but the off-road makes me want to throw a controller. Forza does better, but I don’t want to play car soccer or any of the other wackiness to get to the races I enjoy.
However, after seeing what EA has done to battlefield, I’m scared that codemasters is also a husk of what it once was. I’m not sure what to make about the switch to unreal engine from the ego engine. It seems like they’d be throwing out all the work they did for rally 1 & 2.
Anyone know of gotcha’s related to buying the 64GB if I plan on adding an nvme anyway?
This game made me weirdly motion sick. I don’t generally get motion sick in real life and the only time I’ve experienced in games is VR.
I’m also really liking it so far. Probably would have never tried remnant 1, but got it for free from PS plus. So far I think my favorite part is the exploration and puzzle aspects. It’s been great to get on the mic with some good friends and ask “is it open now?” “No?” (Pull lever) “how about now?”. And while the story isn’t particularly cohesive, it is at least interesting. I look forward to seeing what builds we an create.
+1 for Remnant 2. The first one was a sleeper hit for me and my friends. I don’t believe they have stated what crossplay will be like yet though.
Regardless of whether or not the game actually requires an ssd, this is kinda of a silly article. Just because minimum specs don’t require an ssd doesn’t mean it wasn’t required to deliver the PS5 experience. There could be loading screens for all we know. Also equating the fact the the author was able to run the game on “the slowest ssd that’s ps5 compatible” seems disingenuous when it’s still 40ish times faster than a traditional hdd.
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
Ah, yeah for me it’s all about the skateboarding and now that I’m used to the 2 stick trick system I don’t think I can go back to the skate 1 & 2 style.
Im still excited to check out skate 3 and I hope it does well. Just feels like I’m not the target audience anymore.
