its the icon for a LED stripe. I use it to toggle the Hyperion Ambient Light system (its synced with the HDMI input of the projector)

Good point but for your proposal a complete redesign (to little thickness) of the original buttons would have been needed and I personally can’t confirm any sharp corners. But feel free to remix :)
