I’ve definitely made a return to dark waters.
I’ve definitely made a return to dark waters.
I’ve seen the price go up just by putting it in the basket.
Seems like going to India is a health hazard.
YouTube is highly profitable already.
I haven’t watched live tv in almost 20 years because I refuse to sit through ads, and I definitely won’t sit through them on YouTube. If it was a banner or some thing on the page or the side of video that would be more acceptable, but sitting through ads to watch a YouTube video….there’s just no way.
They went to the stock chart, picked the latest peak, and wrote the article of doom. It’s down 20% a year ago, but up 20% for the last 6 months, and up 119% YTD.
Not that Tesla doesn’t have its ills or seems to be stagnating, but picking points in a chart is a feeble argument.

15 steps and images for something that takes half a dozen words to explain.

Both developers have created a parrot tool. A utility to plagiarise a style.
AI isn’t doing anything creative. These tools are merely ways to deliver the information you put into it in a way that’s more natural and dynamic. There is no creation happening. The consequence is that you either pay for use of content, or you’ve basically diminished the value of creating content and potentiated plagiarism at a gargantuan level.
Being that this “AI” doesn’t actually have the capacity for creativity, if actual creativity becomes worthless, there will be a whole lot less incentive to create.
The “utility” of it right now is being created by effectively stealing other people’s work. Hence, the court cases.
Don’t imagine for a second that Reddit is done pissing off its users. All it takes for lemmy to win is keep improving reliability and usability.
How many advances were considered against social norms…?
I’m never logging into Reddit again.
Is it? Everyone knows how authoritarian China is. Apple cannot show China as being hypocritical, because they are consistently against privacy…Britain on the other hand: talks one way, and then acts another.

We did it Lemmy!
You shouldn’t be. These companies are not here to play along, but dominate. Just like reddit played along with 3rd party developers until it didn’t need them anymore, so will Meta use the openess of the protocol to ultimately undermine it.
Since the 30th I’ve stopped going on reddit, but I must admit I still don’t participate here as much because the content I’m seeing it’s not as tailored to my interests as I’d like. Searching for communities tends to show a lot of communities with no participation at all, which is useless.
Also wished there was a video player. Being constantly redirected to youtube is a bit annoying.
But I’m very happy with Memmy for Lemmy. Not as polished as Apollo, but close enough. And Lemmy feels freer from bot/ai/ad content, and that is worth gold.
At this point Spotify offers less than competitors with Spotify hi-fi being a bunch of imaginary bullshit. I only subscribe to spotify when they offer me 3 months for the price of one.
Raising prices would be absurd.
