True…BT codecs these days are almost hi-res compatible, why to even bother when actually audiophiles use external DAC.

Rel man, I got pretty good nvidia gpu, but its 10 yo, it never played well with linux, but I feel like recently its much smoother experience on KDE wayland, before I had to use xorg as it was unusable on wayland. I think new major version (6) + constant updates to wayland made it usable, thats why i praise KDE so much, great DE and all their apps (like KDE connect, filelight, partition manager etc.).
It’s more of a distro problem than KDE. I have nvidia toi, and I admit, it bugs sometimes out.
Fr, same experience. It surprises me though, that gnome has 2x more funding…
Good summary, I can’t stand Zorin’s GNOME on my laptop though (I used to use KDE on my main PC). Come on, 5 clicks to connect with BT headphones every time? No auto-connecting? I have to install extensions anyway? Meh that’s not for me…I can’t change date to ISO format on my laptop, because I need extension for this too. Another extension for auto-connecting with VPN, and another app as a killswitch. Just you need to find an app/extension/tweak if you want to do anything more advanced than most basic functionality, it annoys me af. And I really like Zorin, its so noob-friendly (as I wanted it to be), but at the same time many functionalities don’t work just because of “simplicity”.
Ew, that sounds bad. I would prefer “promote open twitter-like social media” instead of “ban X” (you can replace X with any other website/software, even FOSS one). No banning should be allowed in EU.
Yeah not really “don’t mind”, but hopefully I won’t need it, thanks
I have to admit its interesting pick, I will try that out first in VM, thanks for suggestion :)
Well I tried, it was better than cachyOS now, but still it was not so for noobs, i had to fix many problems using it
KDE only, I would prefer stability (as I’m tired of things breaking up), but I need latest updates (thats why i liked flatpak, cuz it partially replaces need of AUR).
Great…Right now, when I was thinking about finally installing Manjaro (I saw its for noobs, pretty well designed, i’m tired of “power users” distros). What else then? I used EOS, it was buggy sometimes errors etc., I use cachyOS and all the time errors and problems, but i just don’t care anymore, Ubuntu is corporate’s shit, maybe Mint or Fedora? Actually, I kinda liked flatpak recently, maybe I could live without AUR he? But on the other hand I need this rolling release cycle, thats why I hoped Manjaro is such “stable arch”, I’m nvidia user…
Its just because xwayland is doing its job, but many games and programs don’t work even on it, you just need to switch to X11 manually, this is annoying me. I don’t know why people downvote, maybe because they don’t have nvidia and don’t know how it works there. I have nvidia and use linux 2 years already, I can confidently say from my experience, X11 is more laggy but more stable, you need special kernel for wayland to work just better on nvidia, and still it is not as good as just using x11.
Yo, try it on nvidia…or try some older programs, try playing games. Wayland is already good, but if it keeps being developed at this speed, then its 10 or more years left for this things to work yet.
When telegram team is mainly focusing on UX instead of privacy and security, it is not wierd for me. They don’t have to bother about encryption, about matrix protocol which federates all the self-hosted servers, about self-hosting in itself etc. I’m pretty sure element’s UX is a side-quest compared to all those other things under the curtain. Summing it up, Element X is in fact a huge upgrade, making it closer in UX to other mainstream apps like those i mentioned above, not Telegram, because it is not even a messenger, its just a social media app that immitates “private and secure” messenger, but in reality it is just twitter DM.
Telegram isn’t really an alternative, they don’t even use encryption by default, so it should be faster. Better to compare real alternatives: Signal, Whatsapp, Simplex etc.
