It’s nice to see the senate opposition functioning.

Edit: 18 hours of holding the senate floor, giving voice to the american people. Lots of tears as american suffering is read out loud for the congressional record. Testiment from Americans across the country. This is the voice of the people. Please click the link, share and watch. The media needs to know we care about the opposition more than we care about trump rambling on a plane about fort knox.

Yes, that’s correct. What I’m trying to get away from the “both sides” thing is because it does the exact opposite which is foster complacency.

Correct. Brooker standing up and talking all night long, for 18 hours to give voice to Americans who have reached out to him is democracy. This is the good side. These guys are crying tears as they try to hold it together and get the longest filibuster in history.

This should draw support and applause from everyone. This is holding them to the fire. No one sleeps. No one negotiates. Endless filibuster until Congress gets reigned in.

        This is the good side

Where are the other 40ish senators and why aren’t they helping him?

Why are all of you coming here and commenting without looking at the video im trying to share? I want to talk to you about the content of the filibuster that’s been happening for 20 hours. How do you think he’s been standing for 20 hours straight? There’s 10-20 other Dem senators there helping him by taking questions, giving speeches and allowing him to get bathroom breaks.

And they’re doing the bare minimum. They should’ve been on rotational shifts from one week in, and this especially should’ve been going on when they signed away all their power with the budget approvals a few weeks ago.

I promise I am not attacking you personally, let’s just not mistake this as the Democratic party fighting, this is one man fighting an uphill battle with the bare level of help.

I’ve got some extra firearms if you need one to defend yourself. Im pretty sure ice isn’t gonna come arrest me and the retired old ladies protesting in front of the capital, but it would make good news for the cause. Idk i refuse to live in fear. I refuse to live like a impotent fool. Go do something besides discourage people from being productive.

I’m sure there are at least 4 democrats who represent their voters.

I’m talking about the other 99% of the irredeemable party that is complicit in the current coup, because they are choosing to earn the good graces of their rich masters instead of stopping the coup.

Lets eat them. Move the protest from the capital to their actual personal residences and don’t let them leave until they step down. No car to the grocery store, human wall. No more making it to the capital to vote, human wall. Plenty of non-violent ways to make their positions unbearable. I agree after seeing the vote pass that Bookers speech was preventing. bunch of turn coat dems. only 45 managed to vote against the new head of nato.

                Class war. eat the rich.

Billionaires, US politics is largely fanfare with niche outliers like Bernie. There’s a reason the US has largely been the exact same imperialist state feeding the billionaires for almost 50 years now. Democrats had 100% control of Senate, House, and Executive branch in 2022 and what did they do to prevent what is unfolding today?

Largely fanfare with a focus on imperialist foreign affairs in Gaza.

Anyone who’s been paying attention to the news for more than 3 administrations can tell you this is the reality of our system and nothing will change until it crashes and is rebuilt.

Great history lesson. The dems did not have a super majority in the senate so here we are. There was no progress because the filibuster. Thank god for that filibuster cause we need it now. You need to get 70% of americans to agree with you if you want to make change. It’s a high bar to set and billionaires sure are influencial in the conversations, and the elections. We should change that but 70% of people can’t agree on that either. You think a new government will fix that or do we need to fix the broken people? Like why is it that 70% of ameicans can’t agree on taxing people richer than them or keeping billionaires out of politics in a meaningful manner?

I’ve been playing attention for the past 6 administrations. I cared about Gaza while you were playing in the sandbox. You guys just found out about Gaza on Tic Tok, and handed trump a presidency over it because you can’t even seperate iranian propaganda from genuine compassion.

There was no progress because the filibuster.

When it’s Democrats in control this is the excuse.

When it’s Republicans in control they do as they please illegal or not.

Why do you think this is? Republicans have already burned through 80% of Project 2025 without a filibuster being started, why are they able to accomplish so many of their goals, the Democrats however almost none.

Their AIPAC and Insurance provider paychecks come with stipulations.

You say you’re empathetic towards Gaza yet you’re rooting for a politician who’s accepted 3/4 million dollars directly from Israel.

There’s two kind of “both sides”… There’s “we need a middle ground” which is horse shit, it leads to a choice between fascism and fascism-light

Then there’s “our politicians are decrepit zombies, so let’s do a leftist version of the tea party”

People want change, not stability. Not anymore. Everything sucks, so who are they going to vote for… An openly fascist snake oil salesman saying he’s going to fix everything, or someone composed insisting things aren’t as bad as they seem?

      It’s a toss up, apparently.

Change. Remember that campaign slogan? Because it won, and Obama delivered so little of it
