Missouri is banning the sale of drinks, candy and other foods made with hemp-derived intoxicating substances, Republican Gov. Mike Parson announced in an an executive order issued Thursday.

The ban kicks in Sept. 1.

Parson cited health concerns and lack of research on Delta-8 THC and similar unregulated CBD substances.

He also made clear that his order does not prohibit consumption of psychoactive hemp products. The rules “are not here to punish consumers,” Parson said.

Isn’t delta-9 the THC that most people think of wrt marijuana? If so, my experience ranged from barely feeling anything, to a mild pleasant high, to so intense it was unpleasant. (In the last instance I was impatient, didn’t feel the effects quick enough and took more.)

I was under the impression that the rise in federal legal sale of delta-9 edibles was because the farm bill allows concentrations of 0.3% by weight – so in edible form you can make the gummy or whatever big enough to still include a decent dose.
